It is no longer a vacation, it's my life.
The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.
-Augustine of Hippo
Everyone has their own reasons that they decide to travel but most people are triggered by something. This is often a life-changing event or it could be a sudden change of feeling giving you the desire to fly the nest and set off on an adventure.
My current traveling lifestyle started in 2000. But travel was in my heart and mind long before that. I really wanted to discover more about the world and more about myself.
I have created a life of travel for myself. And now I've created a life of travel with, and for, my children.
The past 18 years since then have been dedicated to exploring over 68 countries. I've experienced all tips of travels! And before leaving to any trip, I received my fair share of intimidating assumptions from family and friends. Everything from "You're going to get kidnapped" to "You won't be able to get around because you don't speak the language" to "You'll die in a natural disaster.”
All of which of course, never happened.
I often question myself about the meaning of life and what is really crucial in our journey. Why traveling is important in life? And why traveling is the only thing you buy that makes you richer?
There are countless benefits of traveling the World. After many years of constant travel, I could say that I see the World with a new pair of eyes. And today, I understand how traveling impacted my life and changed me as a person.
There are thousands of reasons mentioned all around the globe, why traveling is necessary, but in my opinion These are the 5 most reasons why traveling is important:
1- Self-Development
Traveling is one of the best way to enhance personal growth. It enables you to do things different from your daily routine activities. When you travel, you step out from your comfort zone to a different environment which makes you become more responsible and gives a sense of independence.
2- Provides practical education
Traveling indeed is the best form of education that couldn't be learned by seeing television or by reading any book. Almost everyone of us agree that life's real education happens outside our walls. Travel teaches us economy, history, geography, sociology and different life styles of people.
3- Travel gives time to observe, to learn, to appreciate.
It opens your eyes on what is really true and what really matters. It inspires you, shows you how to be a better person and how to improve your life. You start asking yourself big and important questions and opening your mind to new ideas.
4- Enhances hidden skills:
Sometimes traveling helps people to know them better, by letting their hidden talents come out. By sharing insights with people, learning the new ways of being and expanding the horizon of your mind can create wonders in your life.
5- Travelling: a stress-buster, a happiness enhancer.
This is the most obvious theory we hold about travelling, that it uplifts the mood, reduces the stress of our daily lives. From the time of planning of a trip to living it and thereafter telling stories, uploading pictures on social media accounts. Every aspect of travelling seems right fun.
Well,
now you have enough of proven and unproven reasons to take that one trip you
were planning from ages or any trip, whatsoever, when travelling needs no
reason to pursue.
